Biography

For more than three decades, Sacramento musician Brent Seavers has been a driving force in California’s power-pop, garage-pop, and mod-influenced music scene. Beginning his career in his early teens, Seavers quickly became known for sharp songwriting, airtight harmonies, and a uniquely melodic guitar style that blends 1960s British Invasion, ’70s power-pop revival, and modern retro-pop energy.

Early Years & The Decibels (1993–2023)

In the early ’90s, Seavers joined The Decibels, a Sacramento band that would become a cornerstone of the West Coast power-pop revival. Over the next 30 years, The Decibels released multiple albums—Create Action (1997), The Big Sounds of The Decibels (2001), The Bart Thurber Sessions (2003), Big Hits! Plus 12 More (2018), Scene, Not Herd (2018), and When Red Lights Flash (2023). The band toured internationally and developed a reputation as one of the genre’s most consistent and energetic live acts.

The Lucky Shots (2002–Present)

In 2002, Seavers founded The Lucky Shots, his long-running garage-pop project built around jangly Rickenbacker guitars, mod-era textures, fuzz tones, and hyper-melodic hooks. The Lucky Shots have released multiple albums—Bullseye (2002), It’s The Lucky Shots (2005), And Have Some Fun! (2016), and the 2025 LP Clearly Opaque, released by Kool Kat Musik.

Solo Work (1990–Present)

As a solo artist, Seavers writes, performs, and records nearly every instrument himself, crafting high-definition power-pop with modern production. His 2024 album Exhibit B included the single “Her”, which reached #1 on SiriusXM Underground Garage (Channel 21) in April 2024. His solo catalog also includes BS Stands For (2021) and numerous singles and live performances around Sacramento.
